31Then out of the sea being churned by the sons of Kasyapa, who wanted the nectar, great king, there rose up a Person past all wonder. 32His arms were long and thick as staves, his neck like a conch, his eyes red; he was dark, young, wearing a garland, adorned with every ornament, 33dressed in yellow, broad-chested, with well-polished jewelled earrings, the ends of his hair smooth and curling, fortunate, with the might of a lion, 34wearing bangles and carrying a jar filled with the nectar. He is plainly born of a portion of a portion of the Bhagavan Visnu, 35known as Dhanvantari, who sees the knowledge of long life and takes his share in the sacrifice. Seeing him, and the jar filled with the nectar, all the demons,
36wanting to have every thing there is, carried the jar off by force. As that jar, the vessel of the nectar, was being taken away by the demons, 37the gods went to Hari for refuge with their minds sunk in them. Seeing that wretchedness of theirs, the Bhagavan, who does what those who serve him want, said: Do not be downcast. By my own maya I will get your end for you, through a quarrel between them.
