53They knew no counter to it, king, neither Indra nor the rest. Then, being held in mind, the Bhagavan appeared there, who brings all things into being. 54Then he was seen, his tender feet set on Suparna's shoulders, his cloth yellow, his eyes fresh lotuses, eight weapons in his arms, Sri and the Kaustubha shining on him, his crown and his earrings beyond price. 55When he had come in, the mayas born of the demons' trickery perished by the greatness of the greater one, as a dream does when waking comes. The remembrance of Hari is the release from every straitness. 56Kalanemi, whose mount was the enemy of elephants, saw him who rides Garuda in the fight, whirled his spear and hurled it. In play the lord of the three took it as it fell on Garuda's head, and with it he killed that enemy, king, and his mount as well.
57Mali and Sumali, both very strong, fell in the fight, their heads cut off by the discus. Then Malyavan struck at him, and hit the lord of the egg-born with a sharp mace; and even as he roared, the first of all cut off that enemy's head with his discus.
