42Then the revered Bhava spoke with gladness to Bhavani, honoured by the chief of the sages, that maya who is a portion of his own self, descendant of Bharata: 43Did you see the maya of the Unborn, of the supreme Person, the deity beyond all? I, even the first among his parts, am bewildered by her, and not by any will of mine. What then of others, who do not stand on themselves? 44The one you asked me about, coming to me when I had come out of yoga at the end of a thousand years, is this one here, the ancient Person himself, whom neither time enters nor the Veda. 45So the valour of him whose bow is Sarnga has been told to you, dear one: he by whom, at the churning of the sea, the great mountain was held on his back.
46For one who tells this again and again, and for one who listens to it, no undertaking ever comes to nothing; for it is the setting out of the qualities of him whose renown is highest, and it takes away all the weariness of the round of birth. 47To him I bow, who fills the wish of all who come near him: he who gave the nectar churned from the sea to the best of the deathless, who had taken refuge at that foot which nothing unreal can reach and which is come to by feeling; and who in the false dress of a young woman bewildered the enemies of the gods.
