33So, with the gods gone into hiding, Bali the son of Virocana took his seat in the city of the gods and brought the three worlds under his hand. 34The Bhrgus, who are tender to a pupil, had that world-conquering pupil of theirs, faithful as he was to his vows, perform a hundred horse sacrifices. 35Then by the power of that he spread through the quarters a fame heard of in the three worlds, and he shone like the king of the stars. 36And he enjoyed the abundant fortune the brahmins, who are the gods on earth, had procured for him, thinking himself, great-minded as he was, like a man who has done everything there was to do.
