So he whose deeds and might Virinci had praised, whose very coming to be is the nectar, showed himself in Aditi: four-armed, holding conch and mace and lotus and disc, dressed in tawny cloth, his eyes long as lotus petals. Dark and clear, that Person, his lovely lotus face lit by the flash of the earrings shaped like the king of fishes, the Srivatsa on his chest, bright with bracelets and armlets, crown, girdle and fine anklets. Hari shone with his own garland of forest flowers, loud with a swarm of bees, the Kaustubha set at his throat, and by his own light he drove out the darkness in the house of the lord of creatures.

Then the quarters grew clear, and the pools of water; creatures were glad and the seasons came with what belongs to them; the sky, the middle air, the earth, the gods whose tongue is fire, the cows, the twice-born and the mountains all rejoiced.
