Good men do what is best for living beings, even with their lives, which are hard to give up: Dadhyanc, Sibi and the rest. What question can there be over land and the like? Brahmin, the lords of the Daityas who enjoyed this earth and never turned back: time has swallowed their worlds, but not the fame they came by here. Sage among brahmins, men who do not turn back in battle and give up their bodies are easy to find; not so those who give up wealth in trust when a worthy man comes to them. For a man of spirit and pity, it is a good thing if hard going comes to him through his bringing a suppliant what he wants. How much more when the suppliants are knowers of Brahman like you. So I give this boy what he wishes.

Sage, the sacrifice you honour and perform with your rites, you who know the rules of the received texts: let it be that same Visnu, the giver of boons, or let it be another. I will give him the land he wants.
