Marutta's son was Dama, and his was Rajyavardhana. His son Sudhrti was born, and Sudhrti's son was Nara. His son was Kevala, and from him Dhundhuman, and then Vegavan. His son was Bandhu, and Bandhu's was Trnabindu, lord of the earth. The goddess Alambusa came to him, in whom lay the qualities worth coming to; and from that best of the apsarases came sons, and a daughter, Ilavila. In her Visravas begot a son, the giver of wealth: that sage and master of yoga, who had taken the highest knowledge from his father. Visala and Sunyabandhu and Dhumraketu were his sons. King Visala made the line, and he built the city of Vaisali.

His son was Hemacandra, and his son Dhumraksa. From his son Samyama came Krsasva, together with Devaja. From Krsasva came Somadatta, who by horse sacrifices worshipped the Person, lord of the nourishing earth, and reached the foremost way, the one the masters of yoga hold to. Somadatta's son was Sumati, and his son Janamejaya. These are the kings of Vaisali, who carry the fame of Trnabindu.
