Burning in the fire of the Unconquered's weapon, he fell at his feet trembling and said: Unfallen, Endless, whom the good long for, master: I have done wrong, and I ask you to guard me, maker of the world. Not knowing your highest power, I did a wrong against those who are dear to you. Ordainer, make an undoing of it: at the mere uttering of your name even one in hell goes free. Bhagavan said: Brahmin, I am under the sway of those devoted to me, as though I had no will of my own. My heart has been eaten up by the good who are devoted to me. I love the people who are devoted. I do not want my own self without those good people devoted to me, brahmin, nor the fortune that has no end. I am the highest way they go.

Those who have left wives, houses, sons, friends and their own lives, and this wealth and the wealth beyond it, and have come to me for refuge: how could I bring myself to let them go?
