Trisanku hanging head down· Verses 5–7

।

।

।

His son was Satyavrata, known as Trisanku, who was brought to the state of an outcaste by his teacher's curse; and by Kausika's burning power he went to heaven with his body, and to this day he is seen in the sky, thrown down head first by the gods and held up there by force by that same man. Hariscandra was Trisanku's son, and over him there was a war between Visvamitra and Vasistha lasting many years, when the two of them were birds.
