The foremost of Mandhatr's sons was he who is spoken of as Ambarisa, and he was taken up by his grandfather. Yuvanasva was his son, and Harita was his. These are the foremost of the Mandhatrs. Narmada was given to Purukutsa by her brothers, who were snakes; and sent by the lord of serpents she took him down to Rasatala. There, holding the power of Visnu, he killed the gandharvas who had earned death. He got a boon from the nagas: that those who remember this have nothing to fear from snakes. Trasaddasyu was Purukutsa's son, and he made the body of Anaranya. Haryasva was his son, and from him came Praruna, and then Tribandhana.
