The churning, and the city· Verses 12–14

।

।

।

The great sages, thinking that people go in fear where there is no king, churned Nimi's body, and a boy was born. By that birth he was Janaka; because he came from the bodiless one he was Vaideha; and because he was born of the churning he was Mithila, and Mithila was the city he built. From him Udavasu, and his son was Nandivardhana; then Suketu, and his son Devarata, lord of the earth.
