4He conquered the three worlds and offered the royal consecration; and out of pride he carried off by force the wife of Brhaspati, Tara by name. 5Though the teacher of the gods asked for her again and again, in his drunkenness he would not give her back; and because of that a war broke out between the gods and the Danavas. 6Sukra, out of hatred for Brhaspati, took the moon's side, with the demons; and Hara, out of affection for his own teacher's son, took the other, with all the hosts of spirits around him. 7Great Indra, with all the hosts of gods, went after the teacher.
