Verse 1

¹Ayu was the son of Pururavas, and these were his sons: Nahusa, and Ksatravrddha, and Raji, and Rabha, who was full of valour, ²and Anenas. Lord of kings, hear now the line of Ksatravrddha. Ksatravrddha's son was Suhotra, and Suhotra had three sons of his own: ³Kasya, Kusa and Grtsamada. From Grtsamada came Sunaka, and his son was Saunaka, the sage who stood first among those who know the many verses.
