18A full thousand years I have been at the things of sense, over and over again; and still, at every turn, the thirst for them comes up in me. 19So I will let this go, and set my mind on Brahman; and free of the pairs of opposites, free of I-making, I will wander with the deer. 20Knowing what is seen and what is heard to be unreal, one should neither brood on it nor point another to it. In it are the round of birth and the losing of the self. The man who knows that is the one who sees the self. 21Having said this to his wife, Nahusa's son gave back to Puru the youth that was his, and took his own old age from him again, his longing gone out of him.
