Verse 53

⁵¹Sura's son came to Nanda's camp, and finding the cowherds there fast asleep, he laid his son on Yasoda's bed, took up her daughter, and went back to his own house. ⁵²Then Vasudeva set the little girl down on Devaki's bed, put the iron back on his feet, and stayed shut in as before. ⁵³And Yasoda, Nanda's wife, knew only that a child had been born; worn out, her memory gone with sleep, she did not know its sex.
