She sprang out of his hand and at once went into the sky as a goddess, and was seen as the younger sister of Visnu, with eight great arms bearing weapons, adorned with heavenly garlands and clothes and ointments and jewelled ornaments, holding bow and spear and arrow and shield and sword, conch, disc and mace. Praised by the siddhas and caranas and gandharvas, by the apsarases and kinnaras and serpents, who brought her great offerings, she said this. What have you gained by killing me, fool? The one who will make your end is born already, and he is somewhere. He was your enemy before. Do not hurt the helpless for nothing.

Having said this to him, the goddess Maya, the revered one, came to be on earth under many names, in places of many names.
