30Astonished, they took Krsna, who was hanging on his chest, and brought him back and gave him to his mother; and the cowherd women and the cowherds with Nanda at their head, getting him back safe, carried off by the eater of men through the air and let go from the mouth of death, knew a very great gladness. 31Oh, but this is a very great wonder: this boy, brought to his end by a raksasa, has come back again. The one who harms is harmed by his own sin, and a good man is set free from fear by his evenness. 32What austerity did we do, what worship of him beyond the reach of the senses, what works for the public good, what sacrifices, what gifts, what friendship to living things, that our boy, who was gone from us, is here again by our good fortune, gladdening his own people?
33Having seen many wonders in the great forest, Nanda the cowherd, astonished, held what Vasudeva had said in still greater honour.
