Drona, the best of the Vasus, along with his wife Dhara, meaning to carry out Brahma's commands, said this to him. When the two of us are born on the earth, let there be for us the highest devotion to Hari, the great god, the lord of the world, the devotion by which a man easily crosses over a bad course. Let it be so, he was told; and that revered Drona of great fame was born in the camp, known as Nanda, and Dhara became Yasoda. From that, the devotion of the two of them to the Bhagavan, Janardana, who had become their son, was very great, Bharata, and so was that of the cowherds and the cowherd women. To make Brahma's word come true, Krsna, the mighty one, living in the camp along with Rama, made their delight with his own play.

So ends, in the holy Bhagavata, the great Purana, the collection of the highest swans, in the tenth skandha, in its first half, in the showing of the form of the world, the eighth chapter.
