Krsna, whose eyes are lotus petals, whom it is holy to hear of and to praise, went back to Vraja with his elder brother, praised by the cowherds who came behind him. His hair powdered with the dust of the cows and a peacock feather bound in it and wood flowers on him, his eyes lovely and his smile fine, sounding his flute, his fame sung by those who came behind: the cowherd women came out to him together, with eyes that had been longing to see him. Drinking the honey of Mukunda's face with the bees of their eyes, the women of Vraja let go the burning that had come of being apart from him all day. And taking that honouring of theirs, which was the loosing of their sidelong looks with shy smiles and modesty in them, he went into the cattle yard.

Yasoda and Rohini, tender towards their sons, gave the two of them the highest blessings, as they wished and as the hour asked. The weariness of the road left them there with bathing and rubbing and the rest; and dressed in fine cloth at the waist and decked with heavenly garlands and scents, having eaten the good food their mothers brought them, and having been petted, they lay down on a fine bed and slept happily in Vraja.
