Seeing that body large enough to move in the sky, its eyes blazing, fierce tusks under a knotted brow, its crest on fire, astonishing with the glitter of bracelets and crown and earrings, the bearer of the plough was a little afraid. Then his memory came back and Bala was no longer afraid. As the enemy, leaving the company behind, carried him off through the air like plunder of his own, he struck him on the head in fury with a hard fist, as the lord of the gods strikes a mountain with the speed of the thunderbolt. Struck, his head burst on the instant, blood coming from his mouth and his senses gone, the demon fell dead with a great roar, like a mountain struck by Maghavan's weapon.

Seeing Pralamba killed by strong Bala, the cowherds were astonished, and they said, well done, well done. Calling down blessings on him they praised him as he deserved, and held him as one who has come back from the dead, their hearts overcome with love. Now that wicked Pralamba was killed, the gods, wholly content, rained garlands down on Bala and praised him, saying, well done, well done.
