13Every creature of the water and the land, by attending on the new water, took on a lovely shape, as by attending on Hari. 14The sea, joined by the rivers, was troubled and its waves went up in the wind, like the mind of an unripe yogin, smeared with desire, when it is joined to the strands. 15The mountains, beaten by the falling rain, did not suffer, like those whose minds are set on the one beyond the reach of the senses when troubles come down on them. 16The roads grew doubtful, unswept and covered over with grass, like the sacred texts when the twice-born no longer go over them, struck down by time. 17The lightnings, whose friendship is a shifting thing, would not stay steady in the clouds, the friends of the world, as women full of desire will not stay with men of quality.
18The bow of great Indra showed in the sky with no string to it, in what has strings, as the Person without strands shows in the plain working together of the strands.
