So the cowherd women spoke like mad women, worn out with searching for Krsna; and being made of him, they acted out one after another of the Bhagavan's plays. One played Putana, and one who played Krsna drank at her breast. Another was the infant, and cried, and kicked with her foot at one who was being the cart. One played the demon and carried off another who was being the child Krsna. And one crawled about, dragging her feet, with a loud noise. Two of them were Krsna and Rama, and some were the cowherds; and one killed the girl who was the calf, and another there the girl who was Baka. One called to those gone far off, as Krsna does; and as she followed his ways, sounding the flute and playing about, the others said, well done.

Another laid her arm on one of them and walked along and said, her mind on him: I am Krsna. Look at my graceful walk.
