So, asking the creepers and trees of Vrndavana after Krsna, they saw in a part of the wood the footprints of the supreme Self. These are plainly the footprints of Nanda's son, the great self: they are marked with the flag, the lotus, the thunderbolt, the goad, the barleycorn and the rest. Following his track by one mark after another, the women went on ahead; and seeing his prints closely mixed with a woman's, they were struck, and spoke together. And whose are these prints, of one who walked with Nanda's son, her forearm laid on his shoulder, as an elephant cow walks with an elephant? Surely she has worshipped the Bhagavan, Hari, the Lord, since Govinda was pleased and left us and took her away alone.

Ah, friends, fortunate is this dust of Govinda's lotus feet, which Brahma and Siva and the goddess Fortune set upon their heads to drive off what is ill. But these prints of hers shake us badly, since she alone has carried him off from the cowherd women and has the Unfallen's lip to herself in secret.
