13Your lotus foot gives those who bow what they want; the lotus-born worships it; it is the ornament of the earth; it is to be held in mind in danger; it quiets everything. Lover, killer of our care, set it on our breasts. 14It swells our love-making and destroys grief; the sounding flute has kissed it well; it makes men forget every other passion. Hero, give us the nectar of your lip. 15When you wander the woods by day, a moment becomes an age to us who do not see you; and when we look up at your beautiful face with its curling hair, whoever made eyelids is a fool. 16We have stepped clean over husbands, sons, family, brothers and kinsmen, Unfallen, and come to you, knowing what we were doing, bewildered by your singing. Cheat, who would leave women at night?
