Kamsa has done me a very great kindness today: sent by him, I shall see the lotus foot of Hari, who has made his descent, by the light of whose ring of nails those before us crossed the dark that is hard to get past. That foot which Brahma and Bhava and the other gods worship, and the goddess Sri, and the sages with the Satvatas; which walks the wood with his companions to graze the cows; which is marked with the saffron from the breasts of the cowherd women — I shall surely see the face of Mukunda, with its fine cheeks and nose, its red lotus eyes and their smiling look, curls falling about it. The deer are passing me on my right.

And today will there be no finding of Visnu, who has come to human birth by his own wish to take the weight off the earth, who is the home of loveliness? It cannot be that my eyes will not have their fruit outright. He is the one who sees what is not and what is, and has no I in him; by his own fire the darkness and the delusion of division are thrown off; and by breaths and senses and thoughts, which his own maya makes in the self at his glance, he is approached in their houses. Words that are mixed with his qualities, his deeds and his births, which kill every sickness and are auspicious through and through, have breath in them and shine and make the world clean; and words turned away from him are held to be ornaments on a corpse.
