32When the night had passed, Kaurava, and the sun had come up out of the waters, Kamsa had a great festival of wrestling made ready. 33Men made the arena ready with honour, and struck the drums and the kettledrums, and the platforms were decked with garlands, with banners and cloth and archways. 34The townspeople and the country people came into them as they pleased, with brahmins and kshatriyas at their head, and seats were made for the kings. 35Kamsa, ringed about by his ministers, sat down on the royal platform among the rulers of the provinces, with a heart being eaten away. 36While the drums sounded, with the wrestlers' beat carried over them, the wrestlers came in, well decked and swollen with themselves, and their trainers with them.
37Canura, Mustika, Kuta, Sala and Tosala came to the place of attendance, made glad by the fine music. 38Nanda the cowherd and the other cowherds, called in by the king of the Bhojas, presented their gifts and took their places on one platform.
