His eight younger brothers, Kanka and Nyagrodhaka and the rest, ran at him in great rage, to pay back what was owed for their brother. As they came on so furiously, all set for it, Rohini's son raised his iron bar and killed them, as the lord of beasts kills cattle. Drums sounded in the sky. Brahma and Siva and the other great powers, pleased, scattered flowers on him and praised him, and the women danced. Their women, great king, in pain at the death of their own, came there beating their heads, with tears in their eyes. Their husbands lay on the bed of heroes; and the women held them and grieved, and wept aloud in clear voices, letting the sorrow out of them again and again.
