26Then, king, the son of Sura had the rite of the twice-born performed for his two sons in the proper manner, by his household priest and by the brahmins. 27He gave the brahmins their fee: cows well decked out, with gold chains and with their calves, hung with linen; and he honoured the brahmins, who were themselves well decked out. 28That great-minded man remembered the cows he had given away in his mind on the birth star of Krsna and Rama, which Kamsa had unlawfully taken, and he gave those as well. 29Then, the rite received and the state of the twice-born reached, the two of them, firm in their vow, took up the Gayatri observance from Garga, the teacher of the Yadu house.
