We were kept safe from the forest fire, from the wind and the rain, from the bull and from the snake, and from deaths there was no getting past, by Krsna, whose self is great. When we remember Krsna's feats, and his glance from the corner of the eye in play, and his laughing and his talking, then, dear one, all our work goes slack in our hands. When we look at the river and the hill and the stretches of wood, at his playing grounds marked by Mukunda's feet, our mind goes over into being him. I think Krsna and Rama, the best of the gods, came here for the great purpose of the gods, just as Garga's word had it. They killed Kamsa, who had the strength of ten thousand elephants, and the two wrestlers, and the lord of elephants, as though in play, the way the lord of beasts kills cattle.

He broke with one hand the bow three palm trees long and of the hardest wood, as a lord of elephants breaks a stick, and he held up a hill for seven days. Pralamba, Dhenuka, Arista, Trnavarta, Baka and the rest, Daityas who had beaten both gods and antigods, were killed here by him in play.
