Asti and Prapti were Kamsa's queens, bull of the Bharatas. When their husband was killed, stricken with grief, they went to their father's house. To their father Jarasandha, king of Magadha, who was grieving himself, they told the whole cause of their being widowed. Hearing that unwelcome thing, king, full of grief and of rage, he set himself with all his might to leave the earth without a Yadu on it. With twenty-three armies about him he shut in Mathura, the seat of the Yadu kings, from every quarter.
