18But Rukmi, who hated Krsna, could not bear the raksasa marriage of his sister, and being strong he followed Krsna from behind, ringed by a whole division. 19Rukmi, unforgiving and in a fury, in his armour and with his bow, made a vow in the hearing of all the kings, that great-armed man: 20Without killing Krsna in battle and bringing Rukmini back, I will not enter Kundina. This I tell you for the truth. 21Saying this he mounted his chariot and said to his charioteer in haste: Drive the horses where Krsna is. Let there be a fight between him and me. 22Today with sharpened arrows I will take away the pride of strength from that cowherd of the very poor mind, by whom my sister was carried off by force.
23Boasting, of wretched mind, not knowing the measure of the Lord, he called out to Govinda with one chariot: Stand, stand!
