13One day Prasena tied that jewel of great brightness at his throat, mounted a horse, and went about the forest hunting. 14A lion killed Prasena and his horse and carried the jewel off, and as it was going into the mountain it was killed by Jambavan, who wanted the jewel. 15And he made the jewel a plaything for his child in the cave. Not seeing his brother, the brother, Satrajit, was in torment. 16My brother went to the forest with the jewel at his throat and was most likely killed by Krsna: hearing this, people said it over to one another, ear to ear. 17Hearing of it, the Bhagavan went after Prasena's track with the townsmen, to wipe off the bad name that had been smeared on him.
18Seeing Prasena and his horse killed by a lion in the forest, the people saw the lion too, killed by a bear on the mountain slope.
