Seeing him, the Mithila king rose at once, glad in his heart, and honoured him as the rule lays down, with gifts of honour, as one who deserves honour. The mighty one lived some years there in Mithila, held in honour by the great-souled Janaka, who was full of love for him; and there in that time Suyodhana, son of Dhrtarastra, learned the mace. Kesava came to Dvaraka and told of the death of Satadhanvan and of the jewel not being got, the mighty one doing what was dear to the one dear to him. Then the Bhagavan, along with his friends, had performed for the kinsman who had been killed all the rites that belong to the world beyond.

Akrura and Krtavarman, hearing of the killing of Satadhanvan, were shaken with fear, and those two who had set it going left Dvaraka and lived away from it.
