Then the king was pleased and full of wonder, and gave his daughter to Krsna; and the Bhagavan, the mighty one, took her as the rule lays down, and she was his match. And the king's wives, having got Krsna for their daughter's beloved husband, came to the highest gladness, and there was a great festival. Conches and kettledrums and drums sounded, and singing and playing and the blessings of the twice-born; men and women were glad, decked in fine clothes and garlands. The mighty one gave as wedding gift ten thousand milch cows, and three thousand young women with gold at their necks and in fine clothes, and nine thousand elephants, and chariots a hundred times the elephants, and horses a hundred times the chariots, and men a hundred times the horses.

The Kosala king set the two of them, husband and wife, on a chariot, ringed by a great army, and with his heart soft with love he sent them on their way.
