29Bhagavan said: Do not blame me, Vaidarbhi, do not. I know that you have made me your one end. I played at it because I wanted to hear you talk, lady, 30and to see your face with the lip trembling in the heat of love, the corners of your eyes red from the sidelong glance, and the lovely edges of your knitted brows. 31This is the highest gain there is in the houses of householders, timid one, spirited one: that a watch of the night should go by in jokes with the one you love. 32So comforted by the Bhagavan, king, Vaidarbhi knew his words for a joke and let go of her fear of losing the one she loved. 33Bharata, looking at the Bhagavan's face with a shy smile and a lovely tender glance out of the corner of her eye, she spoke to that bull among men.
