The bearer of the Pinaka sent weapons of every different kind against the bearer of the Sarnga, and the Sarnga-handed one put them out with counter-weapons and was not impressed. Against the weapon of Brahma the weapon of Brahma; against the weapon of wind the weapon of the mountain; against the weapon of fire the weapon of rain; and against the Pasupata his own. Then, bewildering the mountain-dweller with the yawning weapon so that he stood there yawning, the son of Sura cut down Bana's army with sword and mace and arrows. Skanda, torn at from every side by the flood of Pradyumna's arrows and letting blood from his limbs, went off the field on his peacock.

Kumbhanda and Kupakarna fell, battered by the pestle; and their troops, with their leaders killed, ran in all directions. Seeing his own force coming apart, Bana, past bearing it, left Satyaki where he stood and drove at Krsna in the fighting in his chariot. Bana, drunk with the fighting, drew five hundred bows at once and set two arrows to each single one of them. The Bhagavan Hari cut every one of those bows through at a stroke, killed his charioteer and his horses and broke his chariot, and blew his conch.
