Touched by the hand of him whose renown is highest, it let the lizard's shape go at once and stood there a dweller in heaven, its colour the lovely colour of gold melted in fire, wearing marvellous ornaments and cloth and garland. Mukunda knew the cause of it and asked all the same, so that people might be told. Who are you, greatly favoured one, of such choice form? Surely I take you for the best of the gods. Or by what act were you brought to this state, kind one, when you did not deserve it? Tell us about yourself, since we want to know, as far as you think it right to speak here. Questioned in this way by Krsna, whose forms have no end, the king bowed to Madhava and spoke, his crown blazing like the sun.
