Best of the Kurus, the Bhagavan Balabhadra mounted his chariot and went to Nanda's cow-station, longing to see the people he loved. The cowherd men and the cowherd women, who had longed for him so long, held him in their arms; and Rama saluted his parents and was greeted with their blessings. Guard us long, Dasarha, you and your younger brother, lord of the world. Saying this they took him on their laps and held him and wet him with the water of their eyes. He greeted the older cowherds as is laid down and was greeted by the younger ones, each one by age, by friendship, and by the tie he had with them. Then he came up to the cowherds with laughter and the taking of hands and the rest; and when he had rested and was sitting at ease, they gathered round him and asked their questions.

And they in turn were asked after the health of their own, in voices thick with love; for they had given over everything they had to Krsna, whose eyes are lotus petals.
