35He who takes the Sudharma for himself, who brings the parijata, the immortals' tree, and enjoys it: that one is not worthy of a high seat, then? 36He at whose two feet Sri herself waits, who is mistress of everything: he, the lord of Sri, is not worthy of the furnishings of a king? 37The dust of whose lotus feet the guardians of all the worlds carry on their highest crowns, the ford that makes the fords holy; of whom Brahma and Bhava and I too are portions of a portion, and Sri as well, and we carry that dust always: where is a king's seat beside him? 38The Vrsnis enjoy a piece of land given them by the Kurus, do they. We are the shoe, then, and the Kurus themselves are the head.
39Look at these men drunk on their power, thinking so well of themselves, like men drunk on wine: their words hang together with nothing and they are harsh. Who that has to correct them could bear it?
