11So Uddhava's words, king, good on every side and not to be faulted, were honoured in return by the sage of the gods, by the elders of the Yadus, and by Krsna. 12Then the Bhagavan, son of Devaki, ordered his servants Daruka and Jaitra and the rest to make ready for the march, and the mighty one took leave of his teachers. 13Killer of enemies, he had his own women brought out with their children and their gear; and taking leave of Sankarsana and of the king of the Yadus, he mounted his own chariot with the Garuda banner, which his driver had brought up. 14Then he marched out, ringed by his own frightful army with its leaders of chariots and elephants, foot and horse, the quarters made to ring with the noise of drums and kettledrums, tabors, conches and horns.
15Behind him, true to their vows, his wives went with their sons in golden palanquins borne by men and drawn by horses, following the Unfallen, in fine clothes and ornaments and paste and garlands, well guarded by men with sword and shield in hand. 16The serving people and the courtesans went along on every side, well adorned, having loaded onto men, camels, oxen, buffaloes, donkeys, mules, carts and she-elephants their mats and tents, blankets and cloths and the rest of the gear. 17That great force, with its tall banner cloths, umbrellas and whisks, its fine weapons and ornaments and crowns and armour, roared aloud in the sun's daylight and looked like the sea when huge fish churn its waves.
