25Seeing Krsna, dearest to him and long unseen, the son of Pandu, his heart melting with affection, took him in his arms again and again. 26Holding in both arms the body of Mukunda, the spotless home of Fortune, the king had all that was ill in him destroyed. Tears in his eyes, his body bristling, he came to the highest stillness and forgot the whirl of the world. 27Bhima took his mother's brother's son in his arms and was stilled, and smiled, and his senses were flooded with the water of love. The twins and the wearer of the crown, their tears rising, gladly held the Unfallen, dearest of their friends. 28Embraced by Arjuna and greeted by the twins, he bowed to the brahmins and to the elders, to each as was due,
29and, being honoured, he honoured the Kurus and the Srnjayas and the Kaikayas. The heralds and chroniclers, the gandharvas, the bards and the jesters, 30and the brahmins too, with drum and conch and tabor, lute and small drum and horn, sang the praise of the lotus-eyed one, and danced, and sang. 31So, ringed about by his friends, the crest jewel of those whose verses are holy, the Bhagavan, praised from every side, entered the adorned city.
