So the man whose auspiciousness was gone spoke these ill words and more of the same. The Bhagavan said nothing at all, as a lion says nothing to the howling of a jackal. Hearing that blaming of the Bhagavan, which was not to be borne, the men of the assembly covered their ears and went out, cursing the lord of Cedi in their anger. A man who hears the Bhagavan blamed, or a man given to him blamed, and does not go away from it, falls from his good works and goes downward. Then the sons of Pandu grew angry, and the Matsyas and Kekayas and Srnjayas, and they rose with their weapons up, meaning to kill Sisupala. Then the Caidya, not disturbed at all, took up his sword and shield, and in the king's assembly, Bharata, he threatened those on Krsna's side.
