Seeing that great rising of the Rajasuya of him to whom no enemy is born, brahmin, all the lords of men who had gathered there were glad, the kings, and the sages with them, and the gods, all but Duryodhana. So we have heard, revered one. Tell us the reason for it. At the Rajasuya sacrifice of your great-souled grandfather, his kinsmen were at the service of it, and love was the bond that held them. Bhima was over the kitchen, Suyodhana over the treasury, Sahadeva over the receiving of guests, Nakula over the getting in of materials, the Victorious one over the waiting on elders, Krsna over the washing of feet, Drupada's daughter over the serving of food, and great-minded Karna over the giving.

Yuyudhana and Vikarna, the son of Hrdika, Vidura and the rest, the sons of Bahlika with Bhuri at their head, and those of whom Santardana was one, appointed at that great sacrifice to their various tasks, went about them then, chief of kings, wanting to do what would please the king.
