The drums of the gods sounded together with the drums of men, and the sages of the gods, the fathers and men let showers of flowers fall. Then all the men there bathed, of every class and stage; and by that bath even a man of great sin would be freed of his stain at once. Then the king put on new linen cloths and, finely adorned himself, honoured the priests, the men of the assembly, the brahmins and the rest with ornaments and clothes. Again and again that king, who held Narayana highest, honoured his relatives and kinsmen, the kings, his friends and well-wishers, and all the others too. All the people shone like gods, with jewelled earrings and garlands, turbans and tunics, silk and necklaces of great price; and the women shone with the beauty of their faces, set off by a pair of earrings and the curls falling about them, and with their golden girdles.

Then the priests, men of great character, the men of the assembly who speak of Brahman, brahmins, kshatriyas, merchants and servants, and the kings who had come together, and the sages of the gods, the fathers and the beings, and the guardians of the worlds with their followers, all of them honoured, took their leave of him and went to their own places, king. They could not have enough of praising the great rising of the Rajasuya of that royal sage who is Hari's servant, any more than a mortal drinking the deathless drink can have enough.
