Hearing this unwelcome thing, Krsna took on the nature of a man. Downcast and full of pity, out of love he spoke as an ordinary man speaks. How could Salva, who is so much the lesser, get past Rama, who is never shaken and whom neither gods nor antigods can beat, and carry off my father? Fate is strong. While Govinda was speaking so, the king of Saubha stood before him, brought forward what looked like Vasudeva, and said this to Krsna: Here is the father who begot you, for whose sake you go on living here. I will kill him while you watch. Save him, simpleton, if you are the Lord. Having taunted him so, the worker of illusions cut off the head of Anakadundubhi with his sword, took it up, and went into Saubha where it stood in the sky.
