9Then, with the brahmins' leave, he came to the Kausiki, bathed there, and went on to the lake out of which the Sarayu flows. 10Going down the Sarayu with the current he reached Prayaga, bathed, satisfied the gods and the rest with offerings, and went on to Pulaha's hermitage. 11He bathed in the Gomati and the Gandaki, went down into the Vipasa and the Sona, came to Gaya and made offerings to the fathers, and went where the Ganga meets the sea. 12He touched the water on Mount Mahendra, and saw Rama there and greeted him, and then went to the seven Godavaris, to the Vena, the Pampa and the Bhimarathi. 13Having seen Skanda, Rama went to Srisaila where the lord of the mountain lives, and, master as he is, to the very holy Venkata hill in the Dravida country,
14to Kamakosni, to the city of Kanci, to the Kaveri that is best of rivers, and to the very holy place called Srirangam, where Hari is present. 15to Rsabha hill, which is Hari's own ground, and to the southern Mathura, and to the causeway in the sea, which undoes the gravest wrongs. 16There the one whose weapon is the plough gave ten thousand cows to the brahmins. Then came the Krtamala, the Tamraparni, and Malaya among the great ranges.
