33This must be it: for me, who am luckless and have been poor all my life, there could be no other cause of such abundance than a look from that greatly glorious one, the best of the Yadus. 34Surely he gives much without a word to one standing in front of him ready to ask, he who has so much to enjoy. Like a rain cloud, he sees to it himself, my friend, the bull of the Dasarhas. 35He counts what he gives, however great, as little, and what a friend does, however small, as much, and does much in return. That great self took the one handful of flattened rice I brought him, and was glad of it. 36May I have that same love and friendship and closeness with him, and his service, birth after birth; and, binding myself to that great one in whom all good things live, may I have the company of his people.
37The unborn Bhagavan does not grant startling wealth, or a kingdom, or great power, to one devoted to him whose understanding does not reach far. He is clear-sighted, and sees for himself the fall of rich men, which comes of being drunk with it.
