Having settled it so in his mind, and being devoted to Janardana past all measure, he took the things of the senses with his wife as one who means to give them up, and was not greedy for them. For that god of gods, Hari, master and lord of sacrifice, the brahmins are the power and the divinity, and nothing higher than they is known. So that brahmin, the Bhagavan's friend, having seen the Unconquered conquered by his own servants, and the knot of his own binding undone by the force of holding him in mind, before long reached that abode of his, the way the good go. A man who hears of the kindness to brahmins of that god who loves brahmins, and so comes to love the Bhagavan, is set free from the bondage of his works.
