Kunti said: Noble brother, I count myself one whose wishes have come to nothing, since you, who are the best of men, never thought to ask after me when the troubles came. Friends and kinsmen and sons and brothers, and even parents, do not remember one of their own when fate has turned its back on him. Mother, do not think ill of us. We are men, and fate plays with us. The world is in the Lord's hands: it acts, or it is made to act. All of us were scorched by Kamsa and went off, each in his own direction. Only now, sister, has fate brought us back to our place. Those kings were honoured by Vasudeva and Ugrasena and the other Yadus, and they sat there at rest, in the highest bliss, from the sight of the Unfallen.
