My father honoured our friends and connections and relations with costly clothes and ornaments, and with beds and seats and their furnishings, with maidservants and every kind of wealth, with foot soldiers and elephants and chariots and horses; and out of devotion he gave weapons of great price to the one who lacks nothing. We are the servants in the house of him who takes his pleasure in the self, and truly it was by turning back from every attachment, and by austerity, that we came to be so. He killed Bhauma and his men in battle. Then, knowing that we, the princesses won in his conquest of the earth, were shut up by that one, he let us out and married us, who were remembering the lotus feet by which one is released from the round of birth, he who wants for nothing.
